  1. So if i an watching this correctly, it looks like when he is halfway in the backswing he doesn’t have the club toe-up. Wonder if that is a personal preference? I am a TSG member, and have seen Clay have his drive clubface straight up and down when he has his hands waist high in the backswing

    • Hi Steve, face rotation in the backswing really doesn’t matter. Just do what comes naturally to you. I wouldn’t even think about it at all. What matters is the face at impact. If you shallow the club like Clay talks about in The Move section and get that face squaring up earlier then you’ll typically have more consistency squaring the face at impact. Here is a great video from the website where Clay talks about this: . Play well! ~ Quentin | TSG Instructor

  2. Is this for “how to play a cut”?  As a slicer, I wouldn’t mind having a draw, big high draw or an occasional hook!  How would you use these drills to produce a draw?

    • Hi Robert, this drill is to help you shallow it in the start of the downswing. If you bring the club way inside on the backswing then it’s more difficult to shallow it at the start of the downswing. You’ll tend to start down steep and in this students case, shallow it late causing a way in to out club path. If you start steep in the downswing and not make the compensation this student is making then you’ll come over the top typically. This might be what you’re doing because over the top usually results in a slice. Give the drill a try and see if it helps. Best of luck! ~ Quentin | TSG Instructor

    • Thanks Joakim! Glad you liked the video. Clay is still around. Robin is our Director of Instruction and will be in many videos going forward. Robin really knows his stuff and we’re lucky to have him on our team. Hope you’re playing great! ~ Quentin | TSG Instructor

  3. Another great video. The Topspeed Golf system has changed the way I impact the ball. It has genuinely made golf more fun. That first drill by the way with the laser graphic elements will now be referred to as the Light Saber Drill. Great stuff Robin.
