Are you a novice golfer? If you are totally confused and clueless about learning the game of golf or any of its individual aspects, you are by no means alone. Many people feel as if they know nothing when first learning about golf. Read these golf tips.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to make sure that you allow for moisture conditions when playing. This is important because the wetness of the ground you are playing on will have a direct impact on how your ball bounces and rolls. The wetter it is, the less distance you will get after making contact with the ground.

When beginning to learn how to golf, focus on the drive. The drive will put you in a good position either for a putt, or a second shot then a putt. If you can’t get it close to the fairway on your drive, your drive needs work. Having a good drive can lower your score tremendously.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to slow down your back swing and shorten its length if you are having problems with accuracy. Your back swing is only in existence to put your swing in the right position. Be sure to not let it mess up your entire stroke.

A helpful tip when it comes to golfing is to know when to tell yourself it’s time to move on to the next golf hole. It can be aggravating for other players in your group or behind your group if you consistently take too many shots per hole and hold everyone up.

If you want to get rid of a hook the first thing you should do is check your grip. If your grip is too strong, your right hand is rotated too far over your left hand, you should practice moving your hand to a more neutral position. This will open your club face at contact and should prevent the hook.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to try to forget everything you have ever been told about your swing and do what comes naturally. Sometimes depending on unique body types, you may need to adapt a swing that is nothing close to the general form that is recommended.

Golf is a simple sport that is made complicated by the inability to make a perfect shot every time. It can be recreational. Now that you’re more informed, go out there and play!

  1. Believe it or not, playing miniature golf can help with your live golf game. If you practice on these putting obstacles, you can actually improve your short game tremendously. Having to putt over two hills and through a windmill is a bit whimsical, for sure, but it can translate well to putting success on a real green.

  2. A tip for practicing difficult golf putts is to try them with your eyes closed. It’s easy to get distracted from your technique when you want to watch the ball go to the hole- if you shut your eyes, it’s easier to feel the pendulum effect and the movement of your shoulders.

  3. Watching videos of top golf players is a great way to improve your game without even really trying. Don’t be too lazy, though. Figure out what methods the top golfers use to succeed, and mimic those in your own game. The human brain has a remarkable ability to learn just by observing, but you still won’t improve without practicing.
