A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to allow other faster players to play through if you or your group is playing considerably slower than them. This is considered to be normal golf etiquette and should be something that you look for no matter what course you are on.

It is helpful to know that some days your game will be great, and other days it will be terrible. This is inevitable, and if you let yourself be bothered by a bad golf day, then you might not be motivated to practice and continue playing the sport.

When getting ready for a shot, make sure that your keeping your chin and head up. Let your arms hang naturally, maintain minimal knee bend and bend your elbows slightly inward. These tips will help you find the stance that is the best for you and the alignment to make the best shot.

When golfing with a wind, a common mistake is to simply hit the ball harder, which creates more spin and propels the ball upwards into more wind. Instead, hit it lower– adjust your stance so the ball is back further than normal, and use a longer club. This gives you a good, solid, low hit under the wind.

Once you have taught yourself to consistently hit the ball, next is to get your swing down. Think of the club as the pendulum in a grandfather clock. Practice swinging your club from side so side as if it was the pendulum in a grandfather clock. Then, swing your club all the way around as if the pendulum was allowed to complete the circle. Did it feel tight when you lifted the club above your head? Then you are forcing it. The club should swing all the way around as if it were almost effortless, without being tight. Once it feels right, this is the circle of motion that you should work within when swinging your club.

  1. One extremely common problem with putting in golf is head movement messing up the delicate technique necessary for a consistent small hit. Try to practice keeping your head completely still well after making impact with the ball, so that when you do the real deal, you don’t move your head out of nervousness.

  2. A good tip to improve your golf swing, is to use your whole body for power. Amateur golfers think the strength comes from their arms, but using just your arms makes for an awkward, weak swing. It is more effective to move your entire body with the motion of the club.

  3. Know the differences between the clubs if you expect to become a good golfer. Knowing when to use woods, irons, wedges, and other clubs (putter is obvious) will help you to always get the ball up the course where it needs to go. Using the wrong club in the wrong situation could spell disaster.

  4. If you want to improve your golf game, you should ensure you have the correct stance because this is crucial to hitting the ball accurately. One way you can tell if your stance is right is to move your toes in an upward and downward motion while standing with your club. If you are leaning towards the ball too much, then you can’t move your feet. If you are leaning back too far, it will be really easy. You want to be somewhere in the middle.
