Golf Tips:Solid Advice For A Better Golf Game

Getting out in the fresh air and sun is good medicine for everyone, and that’s just one of the many reasons that so many people enjoy to play golf. The serenity of the game is contrasted by the sheer amount of focus it takes so succeed. If you want to succeed, check out these golf-related tips.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to make sure that you allow for moisture conditions when playing. This is important because the wetness of the ground you are playing on will have a direct impact on how your ball bounces and rolls. The wetter it is, the less distance you will get after making contact with the ground.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to make sure you are aware of not only all of the rules, regulations, and jargon, but also golf course etiquette in general. There are many things that you do or do not do on a golf course that could put you in an uncomfortable situation quickly if not done correctly.

To hit a sand shot you should try to take a shallow cut of sand about ten inches long rather than creating an explosion of sand right at the ball. This method of sand shot will give you the best chance of getting your ball out of shallow to mid-range bunkers.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to make sure that whenever you hit the ball your main goal is accuracy, with distance second. A ball that is hit short but that is on good line with a good second opportunity is far better than one hit further but in poor lie or with poor visibility to the green.

If you are hitting the ball fat (too far behind the ball) or thin (too high on the ball) your problem is probably swaying during the shot. Try focusing on keeping your weight on the inside of your right foot during your swing. This will help keep you stationary during your swing and the club will come down where you addressed the ball.

Golf can be likened to a duck in a pond. It’s calm on the surface, but those feet are going a mile a minute under the water. However, the great golfers out there are also calm inside, and that’s what separates good players from the average players. Don’t be the ugly duckling of the country club. Use these tips to help progress your golfing game.

  1. A great golfing tip for beginners is to be aware of your tee height. If your tee height is not where it should be, your drives will not be as efficient. You should aim to have the golf ball be a little higher than the middle of the face of the club.

  2. To help cure your slice off the tee you should tee the ball up high with a fairway wood or a smaller sized driver. Teeing the ball up high will allow you to have a more sweeping downswing which will result in a much straighter shot. If your downswing is not sweeping then you will pop the ball up or slice it. So tee it up high and get that slice under control.

  3. “Topping” a golf ball is bringing the club in too high to connect properly with the ball. One primary cause of topping is improper posture. A golfer who tends to top the ball is likely leaning away from the ball. Leaning into the ball will improve hitting results.

  4. A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to try to play with other people that match your skill set. This will be helpful in making sure that you all have similar expectations on the course. Playing with too wide of a skill set may cause frustration among players if they are either being held back or shown up.

  5. Set your expectations and goals for the shot above where you actually think it will succeed. If you think you are set up for the perfect par, then shoot for a bogie. The human brain has an odd way of functioning at a higher level when it is reacting to challenges and can help power your swing to a further point.
