  1. A great way to lower your golf score is to spend some practice time on a putting green. If you don’t struggle getting to the fairway or the green, it’s time to make sure you can putt. Eagles and birdies are the most common shots in golf that improve one’s score. If you can putt well, eagles and birdies will come often.

  2. When putting, it can be confusing as to how you align yourself with the ball since it is different than a normal golf swing. Always remember that when you line up to putt, your eyes should be positioned directly over the golf ball, so that when you look straight down, you clearly see the ball.

  3. A helpful tip when it comes to golfing is to know when to tell yourself it’s time to move on to the next golf hole. It can be aggravating for other players in your group or behind your group if you consistently take too many shots per hole and hold everyone up.

  4. When you choose golf shoes, pay attention to detail. For example, have a good look at the laces and the holes they go through. Are they little skinny laces with very small holes to lace through? If so, you may have trouble with them coming untied when you walk, and you may not be able to replace them with something more substantial because of the small lace holes. Be sure to choose golf shoes with laces that will tie well, stay tied, and have holes that will accommodate sturdy, thick laces.
